UP & COMING OUT!

Are you ready for the queer double-bill of your dreams?

Join emerging companies, Levity Theatre and Trip the Light Theatre, for an evening of laughs, original music, dancing, and gay old times. On tap are two new plays, both alike in queerness, playing at Arts Court Theatre from November 9th-11th. Come on out and support work by 2SLGBTQIA+ artists and help keep the indie Ottawa theatre scene thriving!

Can’t get enough of us? You’re also invited to a free super-special-dance-party-extravaganza on closing night! Admission is included in your ticket - so all you have to do is stick around after the performances on November 11th. We can’t wait to party with you!

THE LINEUP

la•bel

by Eve Beauchamp and directed by Caity Smyck

Levity Theatre Co.

Couple Beatie and Eleanor have decided to uproot their life and move to a new city. While Eleanor goes to her new job each day, Beatie is left alone to sort out their home. Newfound isolation finds Beatie confronting uncomfortable memories of their past and reconsidering everything about themselves and their identity. As Eleanor comes home every day, Beatie tries to communicate their feelings to her, but conversations that should be about their gender identity end up being about unpacked boxes and furniture.

An exploration of transness told through original music, movement, and humour.

NUIT

Trip the Light Theatre

A clubbing experience unlike any other! Follow four queer characters as they stumble and sing their way through a night out, the cycle of partying on full, messy display. Interconnected vignettes full of bright lights, deep talks and hilarious pitstops showcase the show's themes of friendship and identity, accompanied by dance and movement that lets our protagonists express their personal journeys. Grab a drink, a super cute top, and get ready for a night you'll never remember.

This event is generously supported by the Ottawa Fringe Festival.
